Creating a Comfortable Sleeping Area

Cats often choose their own sleeping locations.

You may purchase an expensive cat bed only to discover that your cat prefers a cardboard box, a folded blanket, or a sunny patch on the floor.

Rather than forcing your cat to use one particular bed, consider providing several comfortable options.

A good sleeping area should be:

  • Quiet
  • Comfortable
  • Dry
  • Away from excessive household traffic
  • Large enough for the cat to stretch
  • Located somewhere the cat feels secure

Some cats prefer elevated sleeping areas because they provide a better view of the room. Others prefer enclosed spaces where they can hide.
